September Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

I planned ahead this month and was actually able to join the blog hop with time to spare, I am so happy to accomplish that this month! My daughter has joined me again and she would like to call her "blog" Cute Creations!

Snowman Soup

My project isn't very original because every year we give our neighbors Snowman Soup and the only thing that changes is the packaging. The clear boxes that PTI stamps come in are perfect for this little gift and I have fun making them and picking out the papers.

I love this set with the mug and you choice of warm beverage to sip and share. This would be the front of the gift and then the back has the Snowman Soup poem.

This is just a great gift to have on hand in the house for when some one drops something off at your house or my daughter has friends over. We have also given this to classmates at holiday time, there is some part of it to love, the mini marshmellows in the glassine bag, the little candy canes or the hot cocoa all together. When we want to make this a bit more special we add homemade cookies or pumpkin bread to go with your drink. Sometimes we add silver "kisses" to the package.
I save all my clear boxes just for this gift! I save everything!!

Trick or Treat Box

My daughter is 7 so she doesn't order much from PTI, yet, but she does save all her American Girl boxes that the little outfits come in, so she decided to recycle that. We are deep in the midst of Halloween in our house and that is all we think of so she has made a treat box for candy or a little gift.

She has so many different Halloween decorations that she didn't even need to get into my PTI supply. The chipboard letters are from Target $1 spot, she loves that section...lets face it so do I!  I did help her cover the box with orange paper to get the measurements right but she planned it all out herself, I thought she did a great job. I was most impressed when she showed me the box and the other embellishments she had added and then took off because "it was too much" and "not the same spooky feel" and she was so right!

Hope you enjoyed our "green" gifts and I am hoping to continue to add to my blog on a regular schedule! After all...I luv2bcrafty!!

Papertrey Blog Hop

I can not believe it has been months since I posted anything to my blog! I really don't know how everyone manages to update it daily with fantastic stuff. Please don't stop, I would be lost!

I am going to try to make this a brand new start, and a perfect way to start with the PTI July Blog Hop, the reason I created a blog in the first place!

So here it is...play around with text!

This is my daughter at 5 moths old on her first Halloween photo shoot! You can't tell but she is s Strawberry! These are my only pictures, not a single one in color!! Now I take millions of photos, go figure.

So this is so pathetic but I can not fix this photo so here it is before time runs out!! The strawberry bling is not fixed yet because I am still deciding and the material you see is a Halloween skirt I made for my daughter!

PTI...black card stock, Pine's Journaling Lines and Spooky SweetsII.
The text paper is from a long time ago in fall pack.

Sorry to be so "grade school" but I wanted to play!
Be kind!

Papertrey Ink Baby Album

I love just about anything Nichole Heady does, but when I came across this monogrammed baby album I knew I had to make this for a special friend. Nichole always gives us such inspiration and she often shares her templates too! I used her free down loadable template for the calendar and cased her idea. I used a 6x6 American Crafts album that has a cloth spine but a kraft cover and used PTI Out on a Limb stamp set to do the front.

Some of the colors are a bit off in the photo but were quite good in real life. I just loved the idea of this album and I think the Mom to be did too!

PTI February Blog Hop

The February challenge was to create something that made you think of spring. The birds have been very busy at our house so a small "bird's nest" seemed appropriate. My nest is crafted out of chocolate and chow mein noodles however!
The stamp set I used is Honey Bees and Berry blush for the flowers. The little box was from Michael's.

So here it is...my spring nest!

This is a first for me, and I hope I will be able to do this correctly...I am running out of time!
The extra photo is my 6 year old daughters "spring project" for tonight's blog hop! She was very excited to make something and is thrilled that I have a blog so she can post things on it!

Have great night and we are looking forward to seeing all the projects!

School Days

I haven't had much of a chance to work on anything new, we have been up to ours ears in Girl Scout cookies! I am very proud of our Daisy Troop they have really worked hard and we are going to have a great budget for our service project. We are going to plant a garden at a senior center.

I just felt like I wanted to add a little project I did at the end of Kindergarten last year. I used a great free download from Nichole at PTI. She made an amazing collection for her Memorial Day party last year and I used one of the labels for a cover on note pads for the kids to celebrate the end of the year and wish them well in 1st grade.
I also did albums, notepads and nugget tins for the teachers that coordinated.

I think I will have to use this template again for the Daisy Scout Camping event in May!

Hope you like it.

P.S. I am not sure who I am refering to when I say "you" because I think only 3 people have ever looked at my "seedling" of a blog. You have to start somewhere.

Dempsey has crossed Rainbow Ridge

Dempsey was our neighbor's dog, but we loved her like our own. She is at peace tonight, and we are the ones left to hurt without her. But we are better for having known her loving ways and always wagging tail.

I will be making a keepsake for her family and will post it when I am done, but I just couldn't sleep without wishing her a safe trip and saying goodbye. She came over this evening one last time to say goodbye to us and my husband had to carry her to the car and drive her to her home around the corner, she was too weak to make it back on her own.

Abby, our yellow Lab will be looking for her on the lawn, we all will, but we will have to look to the heavens to catch a glimpse of her now.

PTI Bitty Dots Challenge

I missed entering the paper challenge so I just had to make some something with this fun dot-to-dot sketch! I had a Valentine's party today for my little girl so not much time, but I made it!

Humble Beginnings

I have actually created a blog!

Technically a simple thing but...it means a big leap of faith for me. Anyway the reason for this is Papertrey Ink and all the goodies and inspiration so I will attempt to load a photo and throw my hat in the ring!
I made these totes for my daughter's birthday (almost 2 years ago) for the girls to take home their goodies in. I saw this in a scrapbook magazine and made a few adjustments. I do remember the paper is from Tinkering Ink and it was double sided so the inside was pretty as well. It is a 6x6 front and back and all the pieces are laminated so they will stand up to some "love".

That is it, and so I join this world of blogging. The photography needs work and I feel more comfortable with my sewing than paper crafts but I am excited to give it a try. It may be my one and only post or I may be hooked, we will see!

Thanks for your time,
Victoria
